One so frequently reads about the spectacular failures people have made of their lives and the dysfunctional families they came from. Carole Little certainly came from a dysfunctional background and a profound negligence of physical and emotional care. But her desire to have meaning in life and to embrace others has led her on a journey of self-awareness and accomplishment. She "cut the strings" which might have bound her to her bleak childhood and instead found the willing mentors, different cultures, and the strength and determination to reach her goal -- a meaningful life.
Tried to put it down and failed. This book should be required reading for all high school students and adults. Little was on the mark with this. Hope she puts out something else soon.
CUTTING THE STRINGS was an intriguing story from the very fist page. Carole Little's live was anything but easy and yet she has become a successful adult with a compassionate heart. This memoir should be on everyone's "must read" list.
Carole Little demonstrates the gift of storytelling in this account of the obstacles that she faced early on and her persistance to overcome. Entertaining, touching and inspiring...a must read. Great that it is available for !

I couldn't put the book down! As I was reading Carole Little's book "Cutting the Strings" I was taken back in time, feeling as if I were witnessing Ms. Little's life first-hand. All the challenges she faced growing up, helped her to become a strong, empathetic individual who serves others in the ministries she oversees. When I finished reading the book, I thought, "I sure would love to see this book made into a movie!"Cutting the Strings A Memoir (Volume 1)
Cutting the Strings is an inspiring reminder that we can be knocked down by our past, or it can become the stairway to a fulfilling and hope-filled future. Carole outlines how her past becomes the preparation for how her life has helped others. Definitely a good book for others to read and a path for many more to take.
